Designing Your Website

There are many elements to consider in web design and one of the most important ones is what to put on your homepage. For a blog, the homepage will most likely contain the most recent blog post, but you can also add other elements that will contribute to the reputability of your blog so that people trust your health care advice. If you are a healthcare professional, the homepage is the perfect place to put your credentials. You should also include a tab for a page that is dedicated to explaining who you are, what you do, and why you are writing this blog. A health blog is also a great opportunity for a section on answering questions from readers, as many people have health questions and would love to get your input. Once you have your design plan, the easiest way to design your website is to use a website template available for free online. The template will allow you to fill in the sections with your own content and then customize it for font, color, and layout.

Create a Mobile Version

So many people now use their smartphones or tablets to access the Internet that it is a great idea to also create a mobile version of your blog. Even if you have never designed a regular website before, you can easily make a mobile version. There are mobile app or mobile website builders online that will convert the content from your regular website into a mobile format. From there, you can customize the mobile site by changing fonts or colors to make the text more visible on mobile devices or adding larger tabs or links so that readers can easily make selections on mobile touch screens. The mobile templates work much the same way as regular web templates, except they can import content from a pre-existing website and they are made specifically for viewing on mobile devices. Making your health blog available in a mobile version is a great idea, especially if you plan to include content such as when people should seek emergency medical care or what to do in case of a health emergency. This information could be very valuable if people can access it easily from anywhere on their smartphones.

A health blog is a great way to share your specialized knowledge with the world. Make sure that you test both versions of your blog before you launch them and remember to always keep your health advice up to date.
