Looking good doesn’t have to cost a ton of cash – although keeping up to date with fashion might feel out of reach, there are plenty of ways to stay stylish without breaking your bank. Here are our favorite money saving tips when it comes to fashion.
Shop Online
Shopping online has become one of the most popular ways to shop now, and for good reason – it’s a great place to look for discounts and cheaper options than retail stores. For example, if you choose to buy fragrance online, you’ll be looking at a massive reduction in cost for you without sacrificing on big name brands like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Burberry. Another benefit of shopping online is that it’s easy to compare different places within minutes, and see where you can find the cheapest price.
Decide What You Love
It’s so easy to walk into a store, see discount items on offer, and buy them not because you love them, but because they’re such a good price. The next time you see this happening, stop yourself – although it feels like a bargain, the money adds up, and before you know it, you’ve spent countless dollars on clothing that you’ll either only wear once or twice, or that doesn’t last very long.
Save your money and spend it on items that you really love – if this means spending a bit more on a more quality item, it’s worth doing that than wasting your money on clothes you ‘kind of like’. It’s also worth going through your wardrobe and doing an update. Have you worn this item in the past year? If not, get rid of it. Are you waiting to lose a few pounds to fit in this item? Gone! Keep only the items you love. The rest, you don’t have to just throw away – selling on websites like eBay is perfect for ridding yourself of things you don’t need, but also making a quick buck.
Make a Plan – And Stick to It
When you’ve decided what’s you, and what isn’t, this step will be a whole lot easier. Whenever you want to shop, make a plan of exactly what you’re looking for. Need a few more brighter colors in your closet? Or perhaps you need a new pair of skinny jeans? Whatever it is, decide exactly what item you’re looking for and stick to that list. Don’t be tempted by the sales; you’ll go in for a belt, and come out with four shopping bags. Only spend money on things you need.
You should also set a goal for the amount of money you want to spend per month on clothes, and don’t go over it. It’s important to keep track of your money if you’re feeling a little short on cash, so making sure you’re strict and have a clear budget of how much you can spend will not only keep you out of debt, but drive you to make more informed choices about where your money goes.
With these tips, you’ll be able to make sure keeping fashionable doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.
