Enterprise Fleet Management apps are changing how fleet owners and drivers manage and track their vehicles. Fleet managers can now conveniently manage and monitor all features of their cars through the recently unveiled app.
Drivers and fleet owners using the software can quickly detect and identify solutions to problems, such as, openings to boost fleet efficiency . Additionally, it offers features such as in-app appointment booking, accident reporting, an eLog for trucks and digital maintenance cards. These allow drivers to spend a lot less time completing administrative duties.
According to one fleet operator, the use of the fleet management app has enabled a reduction in the time drivers spend sitting behind a desk. The app has allowed both managers and drivers to manage their trucks efficiently while on the go .
Now let’s look at some of the features available on the fleet management app.
Real Time Accident Reporting
The app allows drivers to report accidents in real time. In addition , the driver can also send additional information such as images of a crash scene, other drivers , various locations and the destination reached following a car tow .
Additionally, the app has a function that allows the driver to call the head office with just a tap of a button.
Multi-Vehicle Management
Drivers who have more than one designated vehicle can now efficiently manage multiple vehicle entries under one user account.
Maintenance
The mobile app generates digital maintenance cards which can be presented instead of physical ones at garages or mechanic shops. Additionally, drivers and fleet owners can schedule and request mechanical services or maintenance directly from the app.
The app also provides a map and directions to a facility closest to the driver.
Login and Security Improvements
Clients can now log in to the system via the app or on the web using the same log in details. Additionally, those using iPhones can log in using their fingerprints. As you’d expect, they have an option to change their passwords as they wish. Drivers can also choose whether or not their passwords are shown when typed .
Odometer Entries
Fleet managers and drivers have access to the odometer entries. They also have an option of correcting any wrong entries.
Actionable Alerts
Drivers can mark an alert as either read or unread. Additionally, they have an option to dismiss it. Any actions resulting from a warning by the driver or fleet manager are automatically synced for visibility and consistency.
Other than the above, there is a host of other features currently being developed by software engineers . These features include the ability to take and upload photos for vehicle entries, a greater number of customer options for requesting and scheduling maintenance appointments, push notifications for alerts and digital insurance and registration documents.
