Why a Holiday in Sicily
Just imagine yourself taking a regenerating swim in your Villa’s pool and then diving on a plate of pasta with freshly caught fish and, between a granita and a brioche with ice cream, discover all the beautiful beaches in Sicily. There you can finally dedicate yourself to the tan you’ve been thinking about all year round.
Get ready to organize your beach holiday in Sicily.
From the magical majesty of Etna Volcano to the endless beauties of Palermo, passing through the baroque wonders of the Val di Noto, the Sicily has a thousand and one stories to tell. Among the reasons to spend a holiday in Sicily, however, can’t miss the strong appeal of the beaches. Transparent and crystal clear, the Sicilian sea offers some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, between hidden coves and wild oasis, surrounded by the greenery of the Mediterranean. So, we will give you a few suggestions on where to rent your Villa with a fantastic swimming pool, of course by the sea.
Beach of Vendicari
The beach of Vendicari is one of the fascinating coasts of the Reserve. It is in the southern area, between the shores of Calamosche and San Lorenzo, a beach that delimits the boundaries of the Reserve. It has a very long sandy coastline, with a shallow seabed that gently slopes out to sea. This uncontaminated place is located inside the Nature Reserve of Vendicari and is revealed little by little, as a large gem. Set between two rocky promontories, it is a small paradise with transparent waters and white sand. All around, nature celebrates its luxuriance among dwarf palms, myrtles, olive trees, agaves and flowering bushes. A 20-minute walk is necessary to reach it, but you know, you have to wait for all the beautiful things.
Capo d’Orlando
At 90 kilometers from Messina, we see Capo d’Orlando, one of the most exciting places on the northern coast of Sicily. Apart from the center of this small town of 13,000 inhabitants, what is perhaps most impressive is the landscape seen from the sea of Mount Madonna and its lighthouse (both visible from the same city).
Cefalù. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous places in Sicily. The 13,000 inhabitants of this province of Palermo (located about 67 km from the capital) suffer almost an invasion in summer. Apart from the attraction of the sea, Cefalù offers tourists a beautiful village shaped by the Greeks and especially by the Romans. It also underwent the Arab domination, without, however, bringing tangible traces in the monuments we have come to us. From the Temple of Diana to the Cathedral, in Cefalù, you can appreciate the stratification of different cultures that have crossed Sicily.
Island of the Females (Isola Delle Femmine)
In some cases, just the name is enough to fascinate visitors, yet do not expect to see only women around. The percentage of young damsels does not differ from the much appreciated Sicilian average. The name is the result of an imaginative and very generous Italianisation of insula Fimi, or the island of Eufemio”.
Panarea
An enchantment surrounded by the crystal clear sea, and the Mediterranean scrub, rich in lush nature. The island of Panarea is the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago of volcanic origin. The island, located between Lipari and Stromboli, is also the oldest from a geological point of view. The surrounding islets of Basiluzzo, Bottaro, Dattilo, Lisca Bianca and Lisca Nera emerge from the sea. They form a micro archipelago from a single volcanic complex.
Marina di Ragusa
It is the maritime port of the capital of the province. Ragusa is not very close – 24 km away – but it can be an excellent alternative to sunny mornings on the beach and enjoying the sunset in the pool by your Villa.
We give you the best advice on where to sleep a few steps from the beach. Accommodation is one of those things that can turn a regular holiday into something special or, on the contrary, ruin it completely.
