The term “big data” created waves throughout the internet in the past couple of years. It is not about the big data, it is what you DO with that data. When you are on your way to building a strong business you need to have command on big data. Furthermore, you need to realize how to use that data. This era calls for a new breed of marketers. The one that can handle the numbers, the data, and the analysis. You need to learn how to utilize big data for your good. Once you learn how to use that data, you can outsmart other digital marketers how are still struggling with numbers.
- Copywriting and Content Writing
Clear communication is one of the most vital ingredients in your business cookbook. If you put up content that is not relevant to your audience, you won’t be able to generate a lead. And if there are no sales, what is the purpose of setting up a business in the first place? If you really want to get more out of your content, you need to develop some copywriting skills as a digital marketer. You don’t need to be an expert, what you need is some idea of what content writing is and how to create a compelling copy for your website.
- Photo editing
Although this is labeled only for graphic designers you as a digital marketer needs to know how to edit some images. My friend who founded Branex 4 years ago, started with just simple photo editing. He took a course on Photoshop and started editing images. Soon he mastered the art of photo editing. And now he is running a full-flesh digital marketing agency with more than 60 employees under his payroll. And yes, sometimes, he still freelances as a photo editor to earn some earn bucks.
- Social Media Marketing
First, let me make one thing clear. Social media marketing is different than running an ad on Facebook. Social Media Marketing is the bigger picture. You need to master different aspects of Google ads, Facebook ads and LinkedIn. An influential digital marketer needs to develop this skill right at the start of their career. This skill is the bread and butter for any digital marketer. You need to learn how to analyze trends and how you can develop a campaign regarding that trend. This will attract traffic to your website and eventually generate some quality leads on your website.
- Conversion Rate Optimization
Last but not the least is Conversion Rate Optimization. What if you have a perfect website but you’re unable to generate any lead. The core of your digital campaign is to generate more leads. If you are not able to do so, there is a serious problem with your strategy and you need to resolve that fast.
To generate more leads, you need to plan and analyze every campaign. After every campaign, you need to figure out factors that generated leads on your website and do that again. If you don’t analyze your campaigns and figure out what is working, soon you will be wasting all your money on campaigns that will not convert. So it is best to figure out what is working and do more of it.
In the end, it is all about establishing some skills that are serving you well. If the skills you have, do not convert, there is a serious problem with your professional work ethic, and you need to resolve that soon.
