Summer season is a joyful time of the year with gorgeous weather, cold drinks and fabulous pool parties which aren’t complete without the latest swimwear trends.
As women start working out to get ready for the new season so do the designers by launching their newest designs on the market. Chances are that most of your last year’s swimsuits are a tad bit outdated but that doesn’t mean you should throw them away immediately. Check out the latest swimsuit trends and see if you can combine some of your old pieces or make room for a new one.
Printed swimsuits
Print has become a very relevant trend in swimsuits this season and the variety is so huge that you can choose one of the best swimwear online, whichever you like, from florals, stripes, polka dots or animal prints.
Florals are quite a common print but this season they come modernized inspired by art with pop and abstract influences. The latest collections offer both male and female models with animal prints topping the lists. In addition to a classic leopard print and snakeskin, now you can choose jungle-inspired patterns, tiger or zebra stripes and even cow and giraffe patterns.
Jungle and tropical prints add a touch of creativity to any swimsuit and depending on the colour and accessories, you can stand out on any beach or pool bash.
The polka dot print is a primary choice in little girls’ swimwear trends and is mostly incorporated with frills and ruffles but it’s become popular with adult sizes as well. Stripes, on the other hand, are a more popular choice as they can complement the body shape beautifully. It’s common knowledge that horizontal stripes make you seem fuller and vertical ones slim down the figure in all the right places.
The classic LBB
Right next to the classic little black dress, the LBB or the little black bikini is a must-have this season as well. We’re seeing a triangle bikini comeback as a universal piece that combines perfectly with just about everything, leaves barely-there tan marks and surely checks out all the summer boxes. The choice of texture is wider today and there’re new and creative ways to add accessories, embellishments and playful details if you want to spice things up a bit.
Glitter, neon and metallic swimwear
Lots of design houses, from Prada to House of Holland, have been championing neon hues in the last few seasons and as much as they’re frowned upon by many, they can be very flattering – their strong shades make you seem more tanned.
In addition to neon, glitter, sparkle and metallic shine are making their way into swimwear designs and are giving girls the opportunity to shine even more at pool parties and beach raves.
One-shoulder cut
The off-shoulder style might seem to be fading, but the asymmetry of the one-shoulder cut is here to stay. It’s sleek in design and very practical as it can be combined with any look, from sporty to elegant and sensual. It’s also flattering to all body types and sizes and in classic colours, it’s guaranteed to last more than one summer season.
All-inclusive
Finally, we’re seeing a shift in consciousness and a whole-hearted acceptance of all body types, shapes and sizes. All-inclusive swimwear sizing from favourite brands is flooding the runways and shops giving all girls and women the chance to buy what they desire in all the gorgeous prints and silhouettes that were usually reserved for skinny models.
The best thing about the latest trends is abandoning the conventional attitudes that say you should stick to only one cut that suits your body type and embracing all body sizes and shapes. In this way, every girl and woman can pick any style she likes and celebrate her beautiful body!
