The family vacation is something that everyone looks forward to each year. However, it can throw up some unexpected dilemmas when everyone has their own idea of what constitutes the best vacation experience. Adults and kids can have very different approaches to this, so how can you make everyone happy this year?
Check out some of the top vacation ideas to get everyone excited about this year’s travels.
Road tripping
Vacations don’t always have to be via planes; you can have just as much fun on a road trip adventure. Road trips are a great way to see several places in one experience, and that means you can visit places that suit both adults and kids. There are some epic journeys you can take across the country, including the iconic Route 66. The west coast is also a great starting point for your travels, and you can use RV rental in Las Vegas to make the journey more comfortable. Road trips in an RV also mean that you don’t have to fork out on hotels all the time, and can spend more of your vacation time and money doing everything you want while you’re away. RVs give you plenty of room, too, so you and the kids can each have some space to relax and even play some games while you’re on the road.
Camping adventures
Camping isn’t everyone’s first vacation choice. However, you don’t have to stay in a tent to feel the charms of nature. There are lots of luxury camping options, and lodge stays that give you the best experience of getting outside and back to the wilderness, but with the added bonus of a warm bed at the end of the day. Everyone may have to cope with slightly fewer amenities than they’re used to, and the shops will be a good few miles away, but what’s not to love about getting away from it all and escaping from the busy tourist spots?
Be a tourist in your own town
If you’re on a budget and a holiday to sunny climes is out of reach this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy vacation time. Being a tourist in your town has become a big trend in the past few years, and is a great way to see places you probably hadn’t thought of before. Your adventures can also be right on your doorstep or a little further afield. Why not hop on a coach or train to the closest city and spend the day seeing the sights and taking the kids to must-see locations? There’s always plenty to do nearby, so ask friends and family for their recommendations as well. Don’t forget to check for special vouchers and offers for local businesses and attractions too, as this could result in a cheap day out for everyone.
If you’ve explored all the places on land that your town can offer, why not experience the beauty of its waters this time? Take a boat, and explore the seas, lakes, or rivers of your hometown. Boating can be incredibly relaxing to the mind and body. Besides, you never know what new things you can encounter in the waters. Rent a boat, stock up on foods and beverages, and decorate the boat with gorgeous lights. Then invite your friends and family to go on a leisurely aquatic adventure with you.
Whatever you choose to do on vacation this year, there are a host of things that both kids and adults will love. You might have to make a few compromises, but get everyone involved and start planning your adventure now.
