Apple Intelligence usage limits and terms

Apple has published a new support article titled “Learn about Apple Intelligence usage limits,” where it goes into more detail on these limitations.

‘Increased access will be available for a fee’

According to Apple, the following features will rely on server-side models and may be subject to usage limits:

• Siri AI
• Intelligent Photo Editing Tools including Clean Up, Extend, and Spatial Reframing
• Image Playground
• AFM 3 Cloud and AFM 3 Cloud Pro Models in Shortcuts
• Developer apps using Apple Foundation Models in Private Cloud Compute

Apple says that it will implement usage limits on these and other Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features “in the future,” but does not offer specifics on what those limits will look like or when they will take effect.

The company does confirm, however, that once users reach those limits, the affected features will become unavailable for a period of time before access is restored.
